What is co2

What is co2? Carbon dioxide (chemical formula CO2) is a naturally occurring chemical compound composed of two oxygen atoms covalently bonded to a single carbon atom. Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas. It is also a basic building block of living organisms. Trees, grasses, and other plants absorb carbon as they grow. When these plants decay, or are burned, the carbon is released back into the atmosphere. Deforestation and the conversion of wild lands for human use are also adding enormous volumes of carbon to the atmosphere.

Heat waves and ice ages have resulted, on a global scale, over the many millennia of Earth’s existence as a consequence of carbon cycles. Carbon has cycled from land, to ocean, to air. The ocean itself is a vast repository of carbon, containing 50 times as much carbon as the atmosphere.

Carbon dioxide is used by the food industry, the oil industry, and the chemical industry. Co2 is used in many consumer products that need pressurized gas because it is inexpensive and nonflammable, and because it undergoes a phase transition from gas to liquid at room temperature at an attainable pressure of approximately 60 bar (870 psi, 59 atm), allowing far more carbon dioxide to fit in a given container than otherwise would.

The classification of Carbon Dioxide as a pollutant is the basis for most of our economic, political and social problems. The amount of Co2 is grow quickly in world economy speed in this century. Co2 is also cause many negative effects to us, to global warming. To understanding what is co2 will hepl us acknowlege more a bout some positive of co2 to make use of in life and to avoid, reduce, prevent and find solutions for the negative ones.
